This was my Introduction in the Forums of 12wbt.

Hello everyone,
Wow how exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. I am a first timer and am proud to have hit that sign me up button but need to start getting all the negative thoughts like 'what if' out of my head, which I know I can do.
I am a stay at home mum of 3 children, (boy 8, boy 7 and girl 3) and have a fantastic husband who I have been with since we were 16. We are celebrating 10 years of marriage this year which has a little to do with my determination.
I am typical of a lot people here, have tried various things but usually crave something and it all goes down hill or I give up when I think I am trying but don't see the results. I know this time will be different as I am focused and I know I have the support and guidance of such wonderful people here.
When I figure out how to upload a video I will upload a diary (which is a very scary thing). But this year instead of being behind the camera in all our family holiday photographs I will be the star :o)
I cant wait to get to know everyone better, until then.....

Day 5,6 & 7 of PreSeason

Thursday
So for the last few days my legs have been aching and I've been walking around like a have a stick up my bottom - wasn't a good look but today they feel great. I am missing my morning walk so cant wait till my friend gets back from her holiday. I am loving using my new HRM watch, and watching those calories mount up whilst doing my Crunch Time training. Day 4 straight and it is such a good feeling.

I went to the park with the kids today, so drank plenty of water and had a chicken and salad roll for lunch. I am getting so excited about starting the sample menu plan on Monday. I usually find if its all outlined and I don't have to think about it, then I'm pretty good at sticking to it.

Friday
I couldn't sleep last night, so I sat in the lounge till about 2am. I was having trouble breathing, and felt really sick. I finally went back to bed but felt as though I didn't sleep. Eyes were shut but I was so aware of everything. Really don't think I will be doing my Crunch Time Day today - may have to change it to being my rest day. I am also no longer sore in the legs but my abs are a little tender - lol.

I took my kids rollerskating this morning, and whilst chatting to my beautiful friend, I mentioned the wonderful 12WBT challenge I had set myself and that this is going to be the one to change my life. Not sure what I said but she signed up on the spot - YAY. So excited for her. GO LEANNE!

After leaving the roller rink, I had about an hour before needing to take my DD to a hearing appointment. I was tempted to go to the shops (wanted to suss out more of Mish's books) but knew if I did that I would have to buy lunch. So I turned back around and went home. Made lunch and then went back out to the appt. That is HUGE for me. I'd usually just go Fuck It. So motivated was I, that when I came home again, I sucked it up and did Day 5's exercises. I feel so good right now.

Tonight we were going out to Chinese / karaoke for Lea's birthday. It was a planned night and it was a banquet. Now again usually I would eat everything in front of me, with the excuse, "I'm paying for this food so I'm going to eat it", but I thought I did pretty well tonight. I ate my lettuce cup and my soup. Then left 1/2 of my combination birds nest, ate my pork, didn't touch any of my fried rice and played with my banana fritter dessert making rude pictures but DID NOT TOUCH IT - not even a bite! I did drink wine though but you know what I was proud and it has given me strength that next time, I can leave even more!

Saturday
Was expecting to wake a little worse for wear today but no, I feel fine. Went outside and worked a massive sweat session with my hubby who was cutting down trees. So here was I picking up all the (big) branches and taking them down to the other end of the yard. Great upper body workout, wish I had my HRM on. Wasn't going to be satisfied with just that though, I finished it off with Day 6 workout from Crunch Time. I don't own a skipping rope YET, so I improvised and jumped on the spot, twirling my arms as if I did have a rope in them. I am still feeling tender in the abs but am pushing through.

Ate really well today, healthy salad and ham sandwich for lunch then DH cooked lambracks on the webber with a few herbs and we had them with beans & snowpeas in garlic. It was so YUM. He also cooked up some prawns in some other herby stuff - beautiful, and no cream sauces. So feeling ready and raring to tackle this weight and kick it out the door!

Tomorrow I am going to sit down and do Task 2. I have been putting it off and off. JFDI!

Australia Day

I'm going to cheat here and copy and paste my response from facebook with some added extras!

Did my usual 4:30am morning walk, which I am so proud of myself as we usually cancel public holidays etc or cancel when we have big plans the night before but not anymore.... I then pushed through Day 3 in Crunchtime (my legs are still killing), straight after walk as I knew I was out all day and wouldn't fit it in otherwise - Very, Very Proud!
We had two places to attend today, the first we were only popping in for an hour so we didn't take any drinks, nibbles etc. Towards the end I had 2 carrot sticks but that was all - yay me! At the next venue, we set up for the day at our beautiful friends. In the beginning I had a few plain cornchips and a little of my Mexican dip, I  could've gone without eating this, but was happy that I did not eat any other chip, dip, kabaka, cheese, bickie etc. Our hosts prepared lamb in the Webber which was fantastic as it meant no fatty sausages etc. There was also lots of yummy salads. I ate more salad than meat (non fatty lamb) and left the bread, I did have a potato though but left off the sour cream and butter. Again Very Proud.
When Sweets were put out, I did not touch one piece. Not ONE! Instead I ate some fruit. I did drink though, no excuses, I will own it, I took the drinks, didn't drink them all but would've been just as fine with water.

I cracked a lot of demons today, still a few hurdles but I know I can crack them too.

OMG I'm so sore!

Last night I saw Burlesque. I loved it, I have never danced before, always played sport but that has inspired me to lose this weight, get fit and do some dancing - just for myself but I would love it. (I'm sure hubby wouldn't complain either.) Even though it was a late night, I still got up for my morning walk but WOW, I could barely walk after going hard yesterday on Mish's Crunchtime workouts - and that was only day 1. My friend who I walk with was running late, so I walked up to her corner and asked if we could reverse our route as I didn't think I'd be able to walk up the big hill we conquer (and are getting better at) but I think it was more painful walking down the hill then up (there are lots of hills on our route).

I then went to the supermarket and bought everything I'd need to do the menu plan in the crunch time book. Am only doing the sample one and will start it on Saturday. When we came home, and after putting all my fruit and vege away, I did the exercises for Day 2. The OLD me would've given up and said I was to sore, I'll do it tomorrow, but the NEW and FOREVER me knew it was better to push through the pain and I'm glad I did although I couldn't believe there were more lunges/squats to do today!

We are having people over for dinner tonight, so I have requested the smallest piece of meat and we are serving our own vegies so meal size shouldn't be a problem. I am also going to drink Vodka, soda and Lime.

I am loving how I feel after a good workout, although I do wish I had all the equipment, especially to do the warm up and final bursts.

Day 2

I got up for my usual 4:30am walk, and before I go further - yes, I did say 4:30AM. I walk with my friend and we've tried to walk during the day, afternoons, nights etc but found we were missing more than we were walking, due to weather, our husbands returning home from work late etc. We couldn't walk after 6am as both our husbands could leave as early as 5:30am some mornings, it varied so we decided to walk at 4:30am. The bonus of this time, it is never to hot to walk, we have the roads to ourselves and quite frankly who is going to ring the other at that time of the morning to say they cant be bothered walking. The other bonus is, if we do happen to miss our morning session, we have the whole day to make it up. Now I must confess, I do usually come home shower, and then go back to bed but when school starts back in a fortnight, I am not going to go back to bed, I am going to use that time to do the rest of my exercise program, that is one of my first changes.
I wore my new sneakers today and did find by the end of my walk I was starting to blister - ouch. We walk for approx 40mins, and my neighbour is very hilly, I think its roughly 3.5km's but will time it again tomorrow.

I sucked it up, put bandaids on my ankles, popped the sneakers back on and did the Monday workout from Michelle's Crunchtime book. I stank by the end of it, dripping with sweat and usually I would've given up after the 1st set but I was determined to get through and I know this is only the beginning. By the end of it, my legs were shaking like nothing else (damn squats and lunges which oddly is an exercise I don't mind), but I felt so good. Really looking forward to tomorrow and having this form part of my new habits.

I also made a video blog to introduce myself on my phone, but think I'll do it via the webcam and upload it tomorrow. I did not enjoy looking at myself at all, which I guess is a good motivator to say bye bye to that face!

Need to make a start on dinner. xo

12WBT Pre season Sign Up

Well I've done it, as soon as I woke up this morning, I checked my emails and there it was, an email from Mish saying the sign up was now open. So I went there straight away and logged in, I am now committed and focused but know its not as easy at that, it will take a lot of hard work on my part.

My DH is not usually supportive when I want to attempt another 'D' (I have attempted and given up on quite a few) but for some reason (which I am certainly not complaining about) he is actually right behind me - maybe he just wants to get up close and personal with Mish - lol! We even went shopping today and bought new sneakers so I am all ready to hit that exercise circuit. I will be doing my programme from home which does make me a little nervous about following through but I will only be cheating myself if I don't and letting down my 12WBT family so I counting on those factors to get me through.

I have also purchased Crunch Time and the Cookbook which I have not wanted to put down. I am ensuring I don't move forward in the book until I have 'gotten real' and written things down when required. Facing the hard truth is quite daunting but also a huge relief, I mean I hate the way I look on the outside and I guess I have just put on a front to everyone else but really who was I kidding! We went to the Markets today and purchased our meat for our meals. It was great cause we could ask for exactly what we wanted at half the cost of the supermarkets, and then came home and cut off any fat etc. Now to do the fresh food shopping....

I would really love to buy a HRM but that will have to be something I work towards, for now I look forward to and am ready for all that is coming.
